Palm OS Spinoff

iCharles writes "According to this SEC filing per this Palm Infocenter story, it would appear that Palm is spinning off its OS devision. I'm a Handspring user, so it sounds quite interesting to me."

Well, ok, apparently /. requires a wait of 20 seconds, so I guess now it'll be twenty seconds of sex.

The following quotes taken from pp. 152-154. Similar obscene text fills this book. The argument alleging that we *rip* these quotes *out of context*, and the Miller objection that the work must be *taken as a whole* to be adjudged obscene are seen to be more hairsplitting frivols, and so much verbal surplusage, as one looks through the rest of the book. The point should be: whatever the merits of the rest of the book, why should the author compromise the integrity of the whole by intercalating raw sewage such as this throughout? Whatever merit there may in any attendant psychological or sociological apparatus, the obscene portions of text seen here render this title unfit for exposure to and consumption by minors.

    p. 152: My mother suggests we stop and watch. She tells me that of all animals only horses fuck in a similar way like people. She tells me that mating horses closely related makes them a better stock. the stallion that is about to mount the mare is her very own offspring. We are both fascinated by the huge size of the stallion's cock..My mother seems very excited and is rubbing her thighs together. I have no brothers or sisters. My father no longer cares about my mother and has left her.being a practical woman, my mother feels that it is all right for me to fuck her as long as nobody knows about it. I mount my mother from behind, as we observe the stallion fuck the mare. My cock throbs and expands in my mother's sweet receptive cunt. I dare not move in and out lest I come too soon. Fucking my mother was the most rewarding experience in my whole life.

    p. 153: I want to prove to myself that one does not have to be an imbecile to enjoy incest. What young healthy man did not have wet dreams about his mother?. I was about thirteen when I started fucking my mother regularly. To fuck my mother gave me self-confidence.

    p. 154: There are more fathers fucking their daughters than there are brothers fucking their sisters. Mother-fucking is considered rare and that makes me much happier. I am unique. I am daring. I have done something most young men wish they could do if they had the guts. How many young men know what their mother's cunt looks like? Are their mothers frigid or do they love to fuck? How does it feel to penetrate the womb you came out of with your cock? To revisit the place that nourished you for nine months?

The worst terrorist attack in recorded history occurred last month, and now we're involved in a WAR and you people have the gall to be discussing the fact that Palm is spinning off its OS devision???? My *god*, people, GET SOME PRIORITIES!

The bodies of the thousands of innocent civilians who died (and will die) in these unprecedented events could give a good god damn about the fact that Palm is spinning off its OS devision, your childish Lego models, your nerf toy guns and whining about the lack of a "fun" workplace, your Everquest/Diablo/D&D fixation, the latest Cowboy Bebop rerun, or any of the other ways you are "getting on with your life" (here's a hint: watching Cowboy Bebop in your jammies and eating a bowl of Shreddies is *not* "getting on with your life"). The souls of the victims are watching in horror as you people squander your finite, precious time on this earth playing video games!

    You people disgust me!

this news followed the aquisition of Be's IP by about 2 weeks IIRC. at the time i speculated about about what Palm's intention was in buying BE, and then hiring an executive from ATT to run the software division that they were about to spin off. but i guess its only news now.

see this article [wired.com] for a more complete info on Palm's strategic maneuvers and speculation as to their intent.
