Ssmoimo writes: "Omron's robot pet developing department chief Toshihiro Tashima introduces "NeCoRo" in Tokyo Tuesday. The robotic cat will go on sale in November for about $1,530." Chris DiBona said it was "freaky", and I think that's as good a description as any. You can see this thing sucking the breath out of a small child, can't you?

Is this supposed to be a reference to the Cat's Eye movie from the 80's? If so, he's got it wrong... the cat protects the small child from the troll that is about to suck the breath out of the child. It's not the cat doing the sucking.

Nothing beats taking a swing at a cat and kicking it a few dozen yards - the 'thud' and the scream of cat noises.

If I want to kick a piece of plastic, I'll buy a cheap ball at walmart, least it won't be a coupld of grand down the toilet.
