Gecko May Replace IE In AOL/CompuServe

ShaunC writes: "According to this C|Net article, pieces of Gecko have been spotted in a beta version of the next CompuServe client, and AOL has confirmed that Gecko is being tested as CompuServe's default browser. AOL 7.0 is shipping with IE, but perhaps future versions will widen the gap between AOL and Microsoft. (I'm glad we won't be seeing AOL-TW-MS-NBC.)"

Stephen King underwent a routine prostrate examination today in Bangor, Maine. Doctors performed the procedure from a remote, confidential, location using the Internet and the Virtual-AOL remote proctology package. The procedure went smooth except for 15 minutes of uncontrollable ejaculation by Mr. King when the new software dropped the connection for a short period.

The worst terrorist attack in recorded history occurred last month, and now we're involved in a WAR and you people have the gall to be discussing Gecko???? My *god*, people, GET SOME PRIORITIES!

The bodies of the thousands of innocent civilians who died (and will die) in these unprecedented events could give a good god damn about Gecko, your childish Lego models, your nerf toy guns and whining about the lack of a "fun" workplace, your Everquest/Diablo/D&D fixation, the latest Cowboy Bebop rerun, or any of the other ways you are "getting on with your life" (here's a hint: watching Cowboy Bebop in your jammies and eating a bowl of Shreddies is *not* "getting on with your life"). The souls of the victims are watching in horror as you people squander your finite, precious time on this earth playing video games!

    You people disgust me!

      Simple point here:

Those people died. It's a great tragedy, and nothing can bring the dead back. The terrorists are STILL here. The dead have moved on.

The dead died for no other reason but to force us to change and to ruin our way of life. To grieve is to understand that those that died cannot return, and to help those that we can. To be defeated is to allow these dishonorable creatures to win.

If you really want to help, give blood or money, help clean things up, or fight. Otherwise, let us all grieve in peace. If we don't try to go on with life, we will just dishonor those that died. It is my opinion and I stand by it.

    1. Yes it is. It has been ported to Atheos.
    2. Kurt just created Qt wrappers for the Atheos GUI functions to get it to work on Atheos. This could be done for Windows. Also they could just release the browser under the GPL.
    3. That's debatable.
    4. Possibly...
