Ban on Internet Taxes to Expire

slacknet writes: "Well, it looks like the government could be lifting the ban on taxes related to the Internet, CNN reports here. While the House of Representatives has already passed a two-year extension on the ban, the Senate has not. Newsbytes.com also has an article on this matter here. I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks this probably isn't the best time economically to be discussing any sort of additional taxes." I think Newsbytes has it right - the federal ban is likely to be reinstated soon, they just didn't get around to it this week.

How about we kill several birds with one stone at once?

We are under constant attack by terrorists.

Well a common thing I hear these Arabs talking about is Israel. The US government gives Israel money. So let's stop that. We'll have more money to spend here and it'll help Arab relations.

How are they going to get this money without raising taxes? Please think about that and then tell me raising taxes is bad.

How about by terminating crap like welfare, social security, the "war on drugs," and any other fluff social programs. You sound like you'd be happier in place like Britain or even China.

The best government is always the minimal government. If you're so damn worried then I suggest *you* do something about it. Why don't you go into the local military surplus store and purchase a gas mask or two and start digging your own bunker. It doesn't matter how much money the government throws at "anti-terrorism." Terrorism will always be possible.

I got sick of all this open source hippy shit along time ago, i just don't have enough cash for some mac hardware. Windows XP is pretty good, but i would rather use OS X. I'm so sick of all this Free Software crap, it's getting fucking gay. Linux is pretty sucky. I mean it had a chance as a server, but this whole linux on the desktop thing it just silly. Mac already has unix os that is 100 times more user friendly than linux will ever be, right now and no one is switching to it. And it even has IE and Adobe apps, so why do they think Linux could possibly succeed? it's retarded. Now "progress" in linux distros is how much closer to windows it can get, well fuck it, i might as well just use the real mccoy then and go with XP. XP is pretty nice by the way, basically win2k with a couple extra goodies thrown in. Ok mac has a unix based os with drivers, commercial apps and user friendliness...is mac gaining any market share? nope...so why would linux, with few fully functional drivers, almost no commercial apps, and extreme unfriendliness to users even have a slight chance of succeeding?

The whole open source thing is dead...nothin but a bunch of hype...

Oh and slashdot, well slashdot is just a load anti-ms FUD and loserish circlejerking...
