Linux SCUMM Interpreter
Captain Zion writes "A portable, SDL-based SCUMM interpreter is available at sourceforge. With AGI and SCI interpreters available, do we have alternative interpreters for all major adventure systems?" I never got as hooked on the SCUMM games as the other systems, but Monkey Island and Day of the Tentacle were smooth back in the day.
That should take care of your scumm problem. Problems regarding accounts or comment posting should be sent to CowboyNeal.
DOT and MI had lots of little coloured grafics.
And they did very much sound to make come out of the computer.
However under linux all grafics are grey and my computer makes no sound even it is the same i used for playind DOT several years ago.
So why does one create a interpreter for games with many grafics and sounds for a system without any grafics and sounds ?
Even with these grafics being very little you will notice that there are no colours and you will hear no sound !
And why is the interpreter not written in perl ?
You can write anything in perl it is a very modern language besides that it can't display any coloured grafics but i think this is because of linux because linux don't have any colours.
And when they don't write the interpreter not in perl then why they don't use assembler ?
Even i wrote an interpreter in assembler once but it didn't work but i think this is because of linux.
