Aerie Networks to Reactivate Ricochet Service?

JimDog writes: "Aerie Networks is apparently buying the assets and IP of Metricom's Ricochet service and plans to reactivate it in at least some of the former coverage areas. A more detailed press release in PDF format is available here." There might be some hope for Ricochet addicts after all.

Dag nabbit! I submitted this like about 8 hours earlier and it was rejected. Wassup with that??? Slashdot editors must be too damn lazy(to catch easy to fix mistakes....I am sorry about the typo), or dumb to see the benefit of Ricochet.

802.11b was not made to do anything like Ricochet does. In order for someone to use this they will have to come up with some accounting, and easy way to bill, and sufficiently fast enough that if an area gets multiple subscribers, the access point can handle it. 802.11b ain't it.
