ATA133 Controllers Have Arrived
Spot writes "If you're a hardware junkie, then you may already know ATA133 is on it's way to becoming the new standard for drive controllers. LittleWhiteDog has a very detailed look into the Promise Ultra133 TX2 Controller and Maxtor's D740X-6L ATA133 interface drive. " And I just bought a few 100g drives :) I still find it funny that every couple years I buy new hard drives always for around $200... 120 megs, 800 megs, 2.5G, 12G, 30G, 100G. I love this.
Oh give me a friggin break. So SCSI is less complicated than IDE? SCSI also has a billion standards. You're bitching about IDE could be applied directly to SCSI - how come I can't use this ultra fast SCSI drive with my u160 controller? What is the difference between fast and fast wide? At least IDE has numbers. SCSI has all these stupid names. You make me sick, biotch.
Haha! See how lame that was? I don't know shit about SCSI. You don't know shit about IDE. Cry me a river.
Drive platters aren't getting faster at the rate the controller is.
You're a friggin moron. Of course the platters aren't getting faster than the rate. What do you want? IDE platters to develop faster than SCSI platters? Sorry, ain't going to happen. As other people have pointed out these newer standards are more important for the large sizes of the disks than for the transfer rates. Just because you hate IDE doesn't make you any less of a fuck'in retard for being dumb.
