New BSD Fashions

A BSD User writes: "Yesterday, Daemon News announced a new line of BSD clothes. The clothes themselves look very cool and have a "Daemon Crossing" sign on them. It's nice to see Daemon News and their BSD Mall site filling in the hole recently left by WindRiver Systems."

Doesn't scream "nerd" - no URL, no explicit 'BSD'.

This, to me, is a good thing - I'll probably buy a T-shirt. If they were my thing, I might buy a cap. But it's an unknown logo with limited 'cool' so I wouldn't buy smarter or more clothes in the range.

On the other hand, maybe they've also missed the BSD evangelist market - the niche mark-me-as-a-geek and proud of it market. It's hard to see who they're pitching for, and I can only imagine they'll lose money - which is sad if you think BSD is worth supporting.

They could always try a serious promote-the-logo campaign, but it would always have nerd undercurrents and not be taken seriously.

Clothes look great, but wow! expensive. I bought the best shirt OpenBSD sells, the "polo" with a small Blowfish on the front. Tasteful, yet $40 for a shirt that was less quality than what you pay for in the local mall.

The market is good looking shirts with small logos that doesn't cost an arm or leg to get the logo on it. Sigh, I don't know where you will get them, in the market quantities needed for volume pricing.

I probably shouldn't say things suck when you obviously havn't tried. Even if you did try, you were probably too closed minded and impatient to even learn properly. So what do you base your claim on? absolutley nothing? Yah, thats right. You provide no reason for why it sucks (except that nobody posts here). This is a linux-oriented site; it would be expected that not many BSD users would post here. Also, you post as an anonymous coward which basically nullifies anything you say automatically.

Oh, and let me get this straight. You connect nobody posting here as nobody using BSD. And under your logic, nobody using BSD means it sucks because nobody is developing. This is faulty logic, oversimplification. In fact, you are obviously trolling. You are making these false connections to get a rise out of people and to spew your insecurities. Please take your moronic hate-filled uselessness elsewhere.
