"The web browser will require three new directories in the root directory to run, and require five other DJB packages to install."
you nailed it. his ideologies aside, his software is good. having to install DJB's little daemons and whatnot just to get it to run though - unacceptable imho.
To answer your question though - I used to get 100 incoming/outgoing a month for an extra $4. This was about 2 years ago. Now I think you get some free and $4 gets you unlimited.
my 2 cents: I bought a Pismo 2 years ago for around $2200 US but did not go for the AppleCare. Like any well-used laptop it's gotten its share of problems. Right now it's sitting, unused in my bedroom because (A)the battery holds a charge for all like 45 minutes now (B)the power adaptor came loose from the constant wear and tear of plugging it in to charge (C)the DVD drive is the known defective 8x one that won't mount a disk but about 1 in 10 tries. Repairs would easily cost $600-800 for those from Apple. *
My Sawtooth G4 has worked, flawlessly, for about 4 years. No problems at all, but then again it just sits on my floor.
I would say buy the AppleCare if you have a laptop. A year or two down the road when your battery is dead, or the optical drive is funky, and the screen has the keymarks on it, and etc the $300 AppleCare can easily fix those.
(* Maybe it's not too late to get AppleCare? I doubt it.:( )
The movie "Glengarry Glen Ross" with Kevin Spacy, Al Pacino, Jack Lemmon, and Ed Harris. It's not that popular since there is no action, lots of talking, but come on - Pacino's tirade at the end is so funny! I don't know of any other actor who could make "you company man!" be a worse insult than "stupid fucking cunt."
I found this interesting. Imagine a spacecraft going through the solar system over the course of hundreds of years without really having to use fuel.
Want to hear about how I came up with that? My girlfriend's friend + boyfriend came over, and my girlfriend and her friend got high. Then I think her boyfriend got a BJ in my bathroom after. She was like screaming about his enormous penis while we sat on my couch. Wacky. She will so regret that tomorrow.
We played Gamecube and listened to old hip-hop and and a Screw tape I have. And ate some pizza.
Then they went home, and my girlfriend and I fucked. I even got hard and fucked her again after I came. The I ate her out (I love it!), and then she fell asleep after orgasming. Cool!!
So I went and smoked the roaches while taking a hot bubble bath, got a good feeling in my neck, and pigged out on some chips and macaroni salad. The I listened to some Apoptygma Berzerk while reading this article.
And that's when I thought about a spacecraft going through the solar system over the course of hundreds of years without really having to use fuel. But, it's listening to Apoptygma Berzerk - Electricity.
Time to go brush my teeth and go to bed. Bed with my girlfriend, and wake up with my boner pressing into her butt and I can cuddle with her. She's cool! She so doesn't mind when I wake her up like that! She's hot! She's into UNIX and PHP too!
Why, in my day, when it was a blizzard we didn't have no fancy BBS. We had to walk 15 miles (uphill bothways, of course) to the nearest house to trade our warez. All we could afford was one piece of paper though, and we had to write the zeros and ones on it. Bah, kids. Zzzzzzz....
Check out Backfire. Sadly, it hasn't been updated in ~2 years though. The idea of that project is to encapsulate the data as movie frames, so it should be possible.
If you search on google around the Groups, this topic appears a few times. I don't know of anyone who has gotten it to work though, and for as many people who question the integrity of data stored on a DV camera, there's just as many who think it would work fine. Maybe if the data was compressed with some sort of error checking/correction beforehand..
Well, while you wait for Hurd to support a hard drive bigger than 1gig, I'll be watching my host's FreeBSD server support 300 web domains very well.
And while I respect the works of Dennis, Plan 9 is a poor excuse as a replacement for FreeBSD right now. I must ask though - have you ever looked into at all? It takes the traditional UNIX idea of "Everything is a file" to the next level. If you think its the next step, then why is "traditional" Unix stale when its ideas are still being used?
I am an admin at a UBB, and am able to post with Safari. I am unable to logout though with the previous version.:( Had to delete the UBB cookies to logout.
I don't whats up with Safari and UBB, but maybe this new version will fix it.
*downloading*..
Sweet! Ok, I can log in, logout, and post with the new beta.
Click the logout link in UBB, then delete your cookies from that site. You should be able to log in and out as you please then.
I just got done writing 4 letters to my Congressmen about the Pariot Act 2 and war with Iraq. I know it is easier to post online about how something should be done, but it only took about an hour to go out, get stamps and envelopes, and write.
Perhaps take this as a chance to thank your Senator/Representative for voting against this (if they did!), and maybe even let them know your views on the Patriot Act 2, etc.
Now that you say that, I remember renting the Famicom version early too from a Radio Shack! It had this odd fabric ribbon on it to help pull it from the NES. I never got past World 2 though.
The machines foiled a variety of sophisticated counterfeit attempts, officials said. Inspectors spotted cards on which the front photograph was changed to match the impostor, but the photograph encrypted in the back was still of the original person.
So remember folks, if the PATRIOT act 2 is passed, using encryption to change the ID picture will give you 5 years in jail on top of whatever other penelty! Hooray!
CAUCE argues that junk e-mail should be treated like junk faxes: banned altogether except in cases where the sender and recipient have an established business relationship.
What defines an 'established business relationship'? I can see with faxes that maybe they mean I bought a product from Company X. But with the Internet, couldn't a shady business say that I have an 'established relationship' with them because I visted thier webpage, saw thier banner ad, ordered from an affiliate, etc? The law sounds really good but I'm afraid it could be gotten around with some creativity:/
don't have to wait for netcraft to confirm it. 15K layoffs announced, and now a true visionary fired. HP is dying.
Won't happen. I've lived in the Houston area and the Waterloo area, and the Texas humidity and heat can only be beaten with central air ;)
Are you serious? Who types like that? The only think you got right is that Quark is crappy, crappy like WW2...
You can do that now...

I would have gotten first post, but I didn't...cause I bought an N-Gage!
Cingular sucks. Period.

Quicktime needs a restart.
iTunes needs a restart because of some CD burning capibilities
This is a good step!
