Open Source And Genetics

UnanimousCoward writes "SFGate has an article about some researchers pushing for the open sourcing of genetic research software. Of course, the pros and cons are debated." It's the age-old debate; what follows the heart of the scientific method more? Peer review, or getting the information out as fast as possible?

These guys at Labbook are obviously trying to do what every normal, healthy company would try to do. Protect their interests and good name.

A name, that probably creates jobs for people (...)

I must admit BSML is funny, but if you moderators try a little harder there's more interesting things in this discussion to moderate.

If you're not into the topic enough to understand it, moderate another discussion, another time.

Moderators? What moderators? That message hasn't been moderated. It just started out with a score of 2. Nobody ever said it was interesting!
