Fair Domain-Dispute Arbitration Firm Quits the Business

fwc writes: "According to this Newsbytes story, EResolution has decided to quit the Domain Name Dispute-Resolution business because its reputation for being fair has driven away its potential customers - the trademark holders who are filing the complaints. Apparently (and understandably) the trademark holders prefer to use those arbitrators who find for the trademark holder most of the time. Perhaps it is time for ICANN to rethink their policy."

I want a car insurance company like that. I'm sick of paying $1000 per year to insure a car that is worth less than the $500 deductible.

That's not that bad. I'm a suburbian 20 year old male with a single speeding ticket. I pay *$2400* a year for liability/comprehensive coverage on my car($500 ded. as well). Granted, the car's Kelley Blue Book retail value is $9000, but shit man. After paying this thing off, I'll have paid $36,000 for my $13,000 car.

Not all with neck pains are faking. I got hit in 1998 by a woman who ran a stop sign (damage to my car was more than $5,000). I saw it coming and made the mistake of stiffening up. NEVER STIFFEN UP! GO LIMP! (And always wear a seat belt.)

My neck still bothers me to this day and the doctor said it probably would for the rest of my life. I settled the case long ago BTW, and for far, far less than $50,000. Because so many people fake injuries, and it has become common knowledge, juries just reject those claims outright. Insurance companies know this and play hardball and screw everyone over.

A sixth-grader could design a more fair system.

That certainly depends on which sixth grader and whether that sixth grader wants a fair system in the first place if that sixth grader has a stake in the pot. Too many people assume children are innocent little darlings, it certainly isn't a general case. Often, you can give them a chance at chocolate and they'll do anything to get that.
