imrdkl writes: "Looks like Cisco has done a deal with CNN to present a nice overview of the Nobel Prizes this year. The Science awards that have been presented so far include one for singing atoms in Physics, as well as others linked from the URL above for medicine and chemistry. It's worth noting that the physics article was already covered here on slashdot, but now it's official for all."

    We ask the question why many Europeans are socialists. I'll tell you why. After WWII, there was a great need in Europe for the respective Federal governments to have strong control over much of the infrastructure of the rebuilding nations.

    Sounds ok, right? Well, not really. The result is a two-fold welcoming of socialism. As with all governments, once they have power they'll kick and scream before they give it up. The worse problem is the people of many regions of Western Europe. They _actually_ enjoyed their respective governments being mommy and daddy. They can sit at cafes for half the day. If they don't work hard, then the government will basically take the place of the employeer in regards to income level.

    In conclusion, _most_ western europeans are weak and lazy. They love the government being their mommy and daddy's. They've been so brain-washed by their governments that they think their governments are doing the _progressive_ and _right_ thing. Poor little europeans. That's why, even though the EU has a hundred million more people than the United States, the United States GDP dwarfs the EU's. Oh well, hopefully they'll learn soon.

    p.s. Canadians, fucking grow up.

    1. The Wall Street Journal is read by people who run the country.

    2. The New York Times is read by people who think they run the country.

    3. The Washington Post is read by people who think they should run the country.

    4. USA Today is read by people who think they ought to run the country but don't really understand the Washington Post. They do, however, like their smog statistics shown in pie charts.

    5. The Los Angeles Times is read by people who wouldn't mind running the country, if they could spare the time, and if they didn't have to leave L.A. to do it.

    6. The Boston Globe is read by people whose parent used to run the country, and they did a far superior job of it, thank you veddy much.

    7. The New York Daily News is read by people who aren't too sure who's running the country, and don't really care, as long as they can get a seat on the train.

    8. The New York Post is read by people who don't care who's running the country either, as long as they do something really scandalous, preferably while intoxicated.

    9. The San Francisco Chronicle is read by people who aren't sure there is a country, or that anyone is running it; but whoever it is, they oppose all that they stand for. There are occasional exceptions if the leaders are handicapped, minority, feminist, atheist dwarfs, who also happen to be
    illegal aliens from any country or galaxy as long as they are democrats.

    10. The Miami Herald is read by people who are running another country but need the baseball scores.

    11. The Spokane Spokesman-Review is read by people who need high grade tinder to fire up their woodstoves, and can barely get their cars running in this cold.

    12.) /. is read by clueless screen gazers that have yet to learn that it takes more than a half-baked opinion and routine typing skills to run a country.

    I've got Karma 15 and I don't care how low it drops, this has gotta be said.
    Kofi that Oreo negro who's painted all white on the inside needs to be castrated so that we won't have more of that disgusting breed of folks, certainly not a Peace Prize.
    If the UN were a notch more of a pathetic waste of public money than they already are, they'd have invented a medal for it by now.
    The UN is good at ALLOWING genocides under its nose, not PREVENTING ones. Don't believe me? Sounds like a flamebait to ya? Ask anyone from Rwanda, from goddamn Srebrenica, yeah they'll tell you exactly on what hundreds of millions of US money go for, big salaries for clueless paper tigers who get to crap on New York parking tickets 'cause they got dipl. immunity.
    The UN can suck my left nut and ask for the other one, but me I don't need this shit. And I don't need some Scandinavian tree-huggers giving Peace Prizes to Kofis and Arafats.
    Hell, what I need is some Canadian beer and an end to this hypocrisy.
    Now it's time for moderators to do what they're good at.
