Clever New Windows Worm
freakboy303 sent in linkage to a new worm
that will no doubt be cluttering our inboxes soon. Clever bits include running its own SMTP
service to increase chance of success, as well as using a bunch of spaces
to disguise the true extension of the executable. No doubt countless copycats
will soon follow and our inboxes will be cluttered by countless copies
of the thing. Not that there's a problem with windows security.

The 20th,21st,and 22nd chromosomes look drastically smaller than the 1st,2nd, and third will that correspond with how much work will be needed to decipher them?
And does anyone have an idea how long it will take to put this inforamtion to practical use?
And as we discover more and more chromosmes will there be repeated parts in the other unkown ones that will save us time?
Just some questions i had.

This is a joke, right?
Slashdot editors aren't producing the news; they're only relaying it. Think of the editors' comments as an editorial in a newspaper, as that's what they're meant to be.
Actually I rather enjoy reading comments like that...make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Better than the P.C. crap we get from M$ themselves....
Funny. I thought this was thier site, not yours, and can post any fucking thing they want. You don't like it? Go read another new page.
Quit fucking whining about them posting what they want on thier website.
I simply assumed that people on Slashdot are above those biases. We are (mostly) computer and science enthusiasts, and, generally, those types are able to make well-informed decisions about things. And, decisions of that sort are best made without the influence of bias. Some would argue that if bias is a factor, those decisions are no longer well-informed - they are inherently ill-formed.
I could be wrong, but I thought that most of the users of Slashdot were above bias. I may have been wrong. Please excuse me if I was.

I'd prefer it if they just wouldn't post anything about MS unless its related to Linux. Fact is, bad publicity is still publicity. If they wanted to be mature about MS vs. Linux, they wouldn't post this stuff.
/. are kids fresh out of school, without any business tact (not that I've shown much, but I'm not being paid to be here...).
The key word is in the above paragraph is "mature". Its like I always say about elitests and linux. They like being able to put other OSs (in this case) down, that is why you find people bashing Linux newbies instead of helping them out. Cause if everyone used Linux, they wouldn't be "special" and be able to insult the "average man".

Good quote, too many chars. Seriously, the slashdot 120 char limit sucks!
The idea of being "above bias" is stupid in the extreme. I am, for example, extremely biased in favor of food over poison. Some things =are= better than others and having opinions is no vice. Being dishonest about those opinions and pretending NOT to have them =is= a vice.

Really folks. This stuff doesn't deserve a post.
I Wish I had written it. Enjoy!

Please, either mod this troll up, or the original one(s) down.
You know, that is probably the reason I am coming to really dislike Slashdot. I have no problem with the fact that some (and I don't think it is a majority) of users use Linux in the Slashdot community. What I hate is that they have to constantly voice their opinion against MS. Half of what they say is justblind zeolotry, they have no actual experience with whatever MS product or action is up for discussion (see the embedded XP thread for a perfect example of this). Its like Christians condemming wiccans as satanists when the christians have no concept of what the wiccan religion is about. This is just starting to piss me off.
Woulda burned all my mod points to knock even a little bit of this crap down where it belongs, so I'll just burn some karma instead. Word to my fellow moderators: this thread is about a VIRUS, not Slashdot demagoguery, or however you spell it. Please mod ME off-topic so I know at least someone is using their brain. While I'm ranting, how the hell is browsing at -1 while moderating supposed to help contain the trolls. That's how they got to -1 in the first place! Idiots.
