Well, no one submitted it (guess no one reads the LA Times), but from the Red Rock Eater list we have a link to Freedom Fighters of the Digital World, a laudatory history of the EFF. Read it, live it, remember it when you think "I can't make a difference".

Socialism and Fascism, although idealistically opposed, have the same result. The crushing destruction of the individual. Within fascism, people become tools. Within socalism, they become workers.

In both they become no more than statistics, their humanity crushed underneath the relentless juggernaut of popular opinion. For we are humble beings, incapable of independent thought, and rely on our overlords to determine what we should believe.

If the Slashdot Editors really saw themselves as our equals, then why do THEY get to determine the stories that make the front page? Furthermore, they seek to fulfill their twisted agendas by controlling what we see. What DOESN'T get reported? What facts are missing? Think about it. The Moderation system is in place to crush Slashdot users. Groupthink is reinforced by the lack of dissenting stories on the front page. Any dissent in story commentary is moderated down.

A vicious circle, yet the Slashdot natives believe themselves to be the intellectual elite, basking in their freedom.

They are as trapped and suffocated as anyone who would click through a Microsoft (Sorry, Micro$oft, that should get me +5, Funny.) EULA.

The gammadion seed has been sown. It would be wise to remember that it was a National SOCIALIST party which rose to power in 1930's Germany.

Because Verio is censoring many other people's email beside John Gilmore's, and he is going to bat for them and trying to solve the problem, instead of simply switching service providers and ignoring the censorship.
