ArsDigita Shut Down

An Anonymous Coward writes: "Looks like it's official. Philip Greenspun's ArsDigita has been closed, its assets sold to Red Hat. No word on what Red Hat is planning to do with the GPL'd ArsDigita Community System." You may remember ArsDigita from its grand plans during the dot-com boom.

    Now the Overrated is starting to show.. :) .. Hopefully it is also MetModable now!? Anyone got a scoop on this? I hate sissy moderators who only use Overrated/Underrated to avoid MetaMod... Thanx Taco.. first smart move.. in months..

    Well, probably not. I don't believe it was ever demonstrated that they had anything worthwhile to offer.

    I just heard some sad news on talk radio - Horror/Sci Fi writer Stephen King was found dead in his Maine home this morning. There weren't any more details. I'm sure everyone in the Slashdot community will miss him - even if you didn't enjoy his work, there's no denying his contributions to popular culture. Truly an American icon.
