In the section on Windows XP Professional, 'Internet-Based Services Components' paragraph says in part, 'You acknowledge and agree that Microsoft may automatically check the version of the Product and/or its components that you are utilizing and may provide upgrades or fixes to the Product that will be automatically downloaded to your Workstation Computer.'"

    This is nothing more than the automatic Windows Update feature which IS NOT EVEN ON BY DEFAULT!!! It specifically asks you whether or not you want to enable the feature, and explains exactly what it is used for. This is nothing new. Just the typical "IT'S MICROSOFT SO IT MUST BE EVIL" attitude of /.
