Kathleen Fent Read This Story
Kathleen, I wanted to do this in this most potentially embarassing way
possible, and I figured doing it here and now, in front of a
quarter of a million strangers
was as good a way as any. I love you more then I can describe within
the limits of this tiny little story. We've been together for many years
now, and I've known for most of that time that I wanted to spend my
life with you. Enough rambling. Will you marry me? Update
15 minutes 30 seconds later: Subj: "Yes", message body: "Dork. You made me cry. :)"
Hazah! I'm getting married!
:)
If you're under 25, Rob, you shouldn't be in such a hurry!

Celebrate the ruthless slaughter of 14 gangsters! the heart pumps blood and blood is red and red is the color of romance and roses are usually red and the Massacre shed a lot of blood!
GO CAPONE!
Informative? Of course. Insightful? Absolutely. But Troll? Overrated! That's blasphemy! I demand, demand that those moderators have their privliges revoked!
After lurking for many years, I've finally seen a post worthy of making a comment on.
Congratulations.
Many other females might prefer the "traditional" medthod of proposing, but I liked this way best.
Besides, I think it takes more guts to propose in front of all the flamers, don't you?
Offtopic, posting from the UK - was the musical Buffy episode that bad?
I'm just getting into buffy, I've seen 'bout half the first season, some of the "best" episodes, (Hush etc...) and most of the latest season. If you're into the story this season at all, for gods' sake watch the musical episode.

Well you just ruined that episode for uk readers. Luckily I am up to date with the US because of p2p networks ;)

This post is dedicated to the day when the Star Faction story disappears from the Hall of Fame.
Yeah, rare. We all know how uncommon .MPEG and .JPEG are... Not to mention .DivX
Slashdot gets worse every day... Pipedot: News for nerds, without the corporate slant
Maybe. But even if this thread goes to the top of the HOF, Osama bin Laden will still have three stories on that page. If Love is to replace Terrorism on the HOF, then Cowboy Neal and the rest of the crew better get crackin' !
There is no story in common amoung the top ten most visited and the top ten most posted to.
Top ten most visited is an entirely different genra of story. It is the kind of thing people tell each other about and people who never read slashdot immediately must see.
Where as, the most-posted-to stories are the ones that get the slashdot regulars riled up or excited in some way.
Attempts to look at the HOF page to confirm how close we are to #3 (Yeah baby ! Love and peace over Osama and terrorism !) just gave a blank page.
Comments ? Even if you have nothing to add, any comment posted here is anti-Terrorism !
Hear hear !
I could not have said it better.
In fact, I can't, so I'll just quote the previous poster (I wouldn't want that beautiful prose being lost to posterity just because Slash doesn't archive AC posts):
" It's quite shocking to me that people are still wading through a 2000+ post story and marking things 'offtopic'. If you've ever had a conversation that didn't vary in topic over the course of an entire week, then you are a depressingly boring person. But that's not surprising if you spend all of your free time on slashdot looking for comments to mod down. In case you haven't noticed, a new topic has emerged. Any comment posted to this story since 3 days ago that *isn't* blatant crapflood filler with the sole purpose of pushing the story up a notch in the Slashdot Hall of Fame is now offtopic. We are on a mission. Whether or not we 'congratulate' rob and kathleen in the course of completing our mission is incidental. Modding us down will not slow our progress, but in doing so you show yourself to be against the mission. As pointed out in an earlier post, to be against the mission is to be in favor of terror and assholes like Osama bin Laden. If you love Osama, then mod me down. Mod me down and burn in hell."
