Intel Hyperthreading In Reality

A reader writes: "Looks like GamePC has got the first look at Intel's new Xeon processor, which has the new super-fantastico Hyperthreading technology, which tricks your OS into thinking one CPU is two CPUs, two CPUs is four. Looks neat in theory, benchies included."

This is like a BlindDate episode a few weeks ago where two twins tricked a pair of girls into thinking they were one person. They switched places (separate restaurants) halfway through dinner and totally freaked the girls out.

I love BlindDate. That and shipmates. Long live reality TV!

Back on topic... This is only cool if it actually results in performance increases. If the switching time is too much, despite what the OS thinks, the user is going to think the chip is slow.

    Excellent karma whoring:

You start off well by lauding the new tech and then provide some links that people might find useful, though could easily find for themselves.

Next, you throw in a subtle, yet effective, slap against Microsoft product, as sure hit with teh mods. Then you finish up with a big pat on the back for Linux.

I applaud you sir... great job! Sure to only watch your karma rise with your mastery of the whoring posting style.
