Sega, Nintendo Team Up To Create New Graphics Board
TimWeigel writes "The Daily Yomiuri is reporting that Sega, Nintendo and Namco are teaming up to create a new commercial graphics board. This new board, the Triforce (tip o' the hat to all the Zelda fans), will reportedly be based on the hardware in the GameCube. The article indicates it will be targeted towards new game consoles, as well as "similar products". A prototype is scheduled to be demonstrated at the 2002 AOU Amusement Expo on 22 Feb."
I'm predicting another 5 months till they close their doors. It's pretty much going to be Microsoft vs. Sony in the end. Naive companies such as Sega, Nintendo, Turbo Grafix, Atari, etc.. do not realize that you need MONEY and a really dam good product to sell.
Sony really shouldn't use Linux on a PS/2. I'm actually shocked that a huge megalomonic company like Sony is using an unstable, inefficient and unreliable operating system such as Linux. The problem with Linux is that it lacks redundancy and scalability. It was ridiculous how long it took me to get my stupid touchpad on my laptop to work in linux. Then my USB devices weren't working, my firewire as well. I mean, come on, seriously, you call that a RELIABLE operating system? The other big problem with Linux are the people who support the project for this ludicrous operating system. We can begin with Richard M. Stallman. The man is very imprudent, naive and juvenile. I mean, if people like Mr. Stallman, Mr. Eric S. Raymond, Mr. Alan Cox and the creator himself, Mr. Torvalds expect to compete in the operating system market with such fierce and successful competitors as Microsoft, Apple, IBM and Sun (just a few to mention), then they are probably the most foolish business moguls ever on the market. You cannot expect Linux to "grow" with such a ridiculous licensing such as the GNU/GPL licensing.
My conclusion, because I know this will be modded down to -1 (whatever happened to my freedom on slashdot?), is that as "great" and as "wonderful" Linux may be, Linux does not and will not have a future if it continues to be in the hands of these man who lack the predesecing skills in order to survive in the business world.
Oh and Mr. Stallman, welcome to America, welcome to Capitalism... something you dread I assume.
Windows, Lindows.
GeForce, TriForce.
Monopoly, Wanabee.
Smell the Money?
