The Satellite Subversives
SomeoneYouDontKnow writes: "The New York Times (free registration reguired, blah blah blah) has a fascinating article about a former Iranian rock star who has launched a pirate TV station broadcasting back into Iran from, of all places, L.A. From reading the article, I can't help but compare Narional Iranian Television to U-62 from the movie "UHF" because of its ultra-low-budget operations and programming, but, like the fictional station, it's wildly popular. OK, I know this is a little off the beaten track for Slashdot articles, but it's nice to see that there's a broadcaster out there more interested in providing a meaningful service than figuring out ways to squeeze more and more money out of viewers."
That guy doesn't look Persian AT ALL. He looks like an arab. What is this garbage? Is this total bullshit?
"even float the following idea: "Maybe Iran has a right to defend its people with modern weapons, just like we do." "
You see my little Einstein, US government duty is to protect and take care of our safety and if it involves destroying Iranian military potential then so be it.
I am not an American by birth but I live here.
I astonish how citizen of this country take everything for granted.
You do not realize that the only thing standing between your freedom and foreign thugs raping your wife are "hawks" with their military "fetish".
Please, don't make me laugh.
You might sound thoughtful for the kind of people that populate US universities.
People who never been exposed to any danger and therefore have plenty of time and freedom to criticize every mistake this country makes.
For people like me, you post is childish and incredibly naive.
Irrelevant babble that will mean nothing when guns start to talk.
