techmaven writes with a different angle on the coming Hubble upgrade: "The Hubble Space Telescope is scheduled to get a new camera when a servicing mission launches on February 28th, and astronomers say it will provide the best look yet at how planets are formed. Scientists also expect to have a much better chance of finding new things in outer space."

    first I want to see that baby make a smooth hardware reboot in space.

    I can just see it: "Your Computer was not shut down properly, please replace Hard Disk".

    Some other interesting aspects of the upgrade that are barely touched in this article are mentioned over here at cnn. Looking for Black Holes? Looking at weather patterns in our own solar system? Definitely cool stuff. The Hubble has needed this upgrade for a while!
