PC Games To Help Public Policy Initiatives

Ben Sawyer writes: "The Woodrow Wilson Center's Foresight and Governance Project has published Serious Games: Improving Public Policy through Game-Based Learning and Simulation, a whitepaper. The paper illustrates how government agencies and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) can utilize game-based techniques, technologies, and approaches to produce innovative simulations, models, and game-based learning products that enhance public policy decisions. The Woodrow Wilson Center is distributing the paper on-line to a variety of agencies, organizations, and game developers to help foster greater discussion and cooperation between key public policy makers and game developers. I'm sorry, but, although I am an Iranian-American, I know more than my fair share of American history. And I wouldn't trust anything that comes out of an institution with that vile individual's name on it, much less associate myself with it.

Woodrow Wilson, for those of you reading this from outside the U.S., was one of the most markedly racist presidents of the 20th century. Not only did he openly support the ideology and actions of the Ku Klux Klan, but the first ever screening of "The Birth Of A Nation," a blockbuster film of the era, was held at the White House. The Birth Of A Nation was essentially white supremicist revisionist history that portrayed the Reconstruction-era South as run by black tyrants who conspired to opress the white man and rape the white women. It was a true piece of filth, even considering the times.

As a non-white, non-Anglo-Saxon, and a Muslim, I cannot possibly condone anything that would spout forth from an office that bears this man's name. How many coloreds had to die at the hands of an angry white mob because of a president's explicit approval?

AC because this is totally OT but didn't the first Big Gay Al South park Episode originally go "I haven't seen so many children molested since woody allen adopted that chinese girl" or something like that? Did south park get sued over that or what? because all the websites are quoting the retread versions of the big gay al animal sanctuary ep by leaving it as "I haven't seen so many children molested since..." or is my memory just whacked out? I know I quoted it on irc about a million times but that's a first season ep so I'd have to hunt through CDs to find the logs.
