Interesting Concepts in Search Engines

TheMatt writes "A new type of search algorithm is described at NSU. In a way, it is the next generation over Google. It works off the principle that most web pages link to pages that concern the same topic, forming communities of pages. Thus, for academics, this would be great as the engine could find the community of pages related to a certain subject. The article also points out this would be good as an actually useful content filter, compared to today's text-based ones."

Try reading the article and then, try to know how Google actually works. Karma whore.

It's a safe bet that your average /. reader has stretched his anus to comparable size. As I hear it, there's a huge sodomistic subculture here. Apparently the thing to do while you're reading about the latest failed linux outfit is to relax by inserting increasingly large objects up your rectum. Rumour has it that Taco himself once got the front seat to a 73 chevy nova wedged up his ass. I am a relatively new /. reader, so I'm still dealing with smaller objects. As I type this, four #2 pencils and a coffee cup are nested comfortably in my anal passage. In time, I hope to be approximately goatse size, but I hear that such severe stretching can leave the anal ring permanently gaping. Time will tell.
