Microsoft Kicks Playstation2 out of CeBit.

dnaumov writes "According to this article on ZDNET, Microsoft complained to the show organizers, Hannover Messe AG, that Sony was breaching show rules by letting people play on Sony PlayStation 2 game consoles. While Sony has been letting people play their consoles at CeBIT for the past 3 years, that didn't really bother anyone. However, MS seemed to not like the fact and filled a complaint. What makes this even more funny is that Microsoft officials denied that the company had complained to the Messe. but the show organizers confirmed that Richard Roy, vice president, corporate strategy, had complained. This effectively forced PS2 out of the show and Sony started packing their bags on Sunday. Microsoft was also displaying their XBOX console at the show."

OK let me try and explain this for you in words you will understand.

1. Microsoft uses its power to hurt other products by using its monopoly as a threat. If you dont do what they want such as pull OS/2 from the HP machines at Comdex or remove the PS/2's from this show.

2. This is just more evidence that they need strong regulation.

3. If you would open your mind, you would see that this is not a fight agenst but for the free market. Microsoft does not have a better product in the X-Box but they will use the power and weight they have to keep the free market from deciding who does have the better products.

does this not just strengthen the fact that M$ suck big time. How cares if Sony were letting people play the console. As other people have mentioned it's a dumb rule anyway. It's not like people can't playtest the console in the shops anyway so why bother stoppoing them at the show. It's just M$ being evil B******S as per usal!!!
