Shower mp3 Player?

Apreche writes "I was in the shower today humming a song that's been in my head. I started to really want to listen to music in the shower, but the best product I've ever seen is a shower cd player from the sharper image. Are there ANY waterproof mp3 players? I'm looking for about 30 minutes of music, all of the buttons in winamps main window, and stereo sound or better. I mean, now that I have all kinds of digital music, what good is it if I can't listen to it wherever and whenever I want?"

You might as well just hook up your computer to an FM modulator, and tune a cheap shower radio to the frequency. I got my shower radio for under $15 at target. I would think someone makes a waterproof remote control, and there are plenty of IR repeaters available to get the commands to your computer from the bathroom.

I was talking about this Friday!

I've had a computer in my car for a little over a year, functioning primarily as an MP3 / MIDI player. It uses WinAMP and a Joystick plugin (along with a few other things). I was thinking it would be rather easy to adapt the design for shower use by sealing the gamepad with liquid latex or, for a really hacked look, a zip-lock bag and some caulking, and just run the gamepad cable out of the shower and into a cabinet with the PC and a wireless NIC...

    "stereo sound or better"

Stereo isn't good enough? What do you want, a surround-sound 5.1 channel setup? It takes quite a geek to step into a shower and think "this sounds good, but could use an over-spigot center speaker, plus two more astride the shampoo rack, plus a subwoofer built into the cabinent space under sink."

If I were you, I'd concentrate on reducing the background noise before I consider a second speaker.

Now, if you can just find a source for quality quadraphonic or 5.1 MP3's ...

The only problem is that I share bathroom with three other people, and I don't have enough line-outs on my amplifier, so whats on in my room, is on in the bathroom. So now my roommates have to listen to my Neil Young records all the time.
