Music 20 Cents a Track in India

xzap writes "Indiatimes.com , an Indian portal is now offering "International Chart-Busting" music for download legally at Rs 10 (20 cents U.S) a song. They say they (through a partner) have tied up with music labels like BMG, EMI, Warner, Tips, Times Music, Lahari, Enrico Hindustan (which is the oldest catalogue of HMV) and Archies Music "." I still believe that if the bigs let us download MP3s for a quarter a track, we'd do it.

    I wouldn't pay to download "Chart Busting" music. Most played songs on a major swedish radiostation:

    Missy Elliot - For My People (crap)

    Darren Hayes - Insatiable (omg crap)
    The Calling - Wherever You Will Go (crap)
    Mary J Blige - No More Drama (crap)
    Mendez - Adrenaline (craaap)
    Staind - Outside (decent)
    Sophie Ellis-Baxter - Murder On The Dancefloor (sigh, crap)
    Jennifer Lopez / Ja Rule - Ain't It Funny (crap, it's not funny or good)

    Most ppl i know hate the above music, would they pay 20c to download a track? NEVER!

    Also consider this: "Hmm, should i pay 20c for this song or should i just start Direct Connect (downloading music is not a crime in sweden, letting ppl download music FROM you is however) and download it, let me think for a nanosecond, ok, i'll just download it"

    DUH!!!
