Intel Moves To 533MHz FSB

homerj79 writes: "Intel has launched an upgrade 850 chipset and faster Pentium 4's today. The new chipset, dubbed the 850E, supports a 533MHz (133MHz x 4) front side bus, as do the processors. Supporting processors come in speeds of 2.53, 2.4 and 2.26GHz. The 2.4GHz part is denoted as supporting the new FSB by a 'B' tagged to the end of it. And it appears as if the new chipset gives the P4 a performance boost in most apps over the previous 400MHz FSB chips and the Athlon XP." Meanwhile, back at the other processor ranch, firemoth writes: "Today OCAU has something special - They've gotten their hands on 3 AthlonXP CPU's based on AMD's new "Thoroughbred" core. This is the .13 micron process, of course, with lower voltage. This article compares them to the older Palomino core in both speed and temperature.. and they throw one into a Vapochill supercooling case and see just how fast it can go."

You guys have got to help me!!! I don't know if you are aware of this
tradgedy, but a movie, namely spiderman, came out this past friday. Now
here is my problem, and why linux itself is in dire peril. *gulp* here it
    goes...

I am Spider-Man! The movie has revealed my true identity, and the truth
of the matter is... I am also Linus Torvalds.

Yes that's right, my web spinners are powered by linux, and my spider
sense? Just a few web cams on a uCLinux box in my pants (that's why I
always look so... um big). I can climb walls because like linux, I never
crash (ok well there was that once into the billboard, but that was b/c I
accidentally kicked the power cord out). Now that the movie is out,
EVERYONE will know my identity. I can no longer protect linux and NYC
from the Redmond Monkey of Doom! Mr. Gates has secretly been working on
nanoprobes which, when injected into a user makes them super strong and
super fast, unfortunatly the frequent crashes and annoying spyware make
them go MAD! He is breeding a super army of dangerous psychopathic
    killers right now!

Please everyone, help me, I need protection or they will find me, and kill
my dear old aunt may, not to mention MJ the love of my life (even though
    she runs a SPARC).

    Please, hear my cry,
    Linus Torvalds

I was at this party the other night, and a drug dealer was in attendance. He had with him a few grams of coke. This fat guy, who was probably at least 3 bills, threw down a fistful of $20s. The dealer hooked him up.

The fat man sat down next to me and cleaned all the Elle and Madmoiselle magazines off the coffee table, and whipped out a razor. He chopped a gram bag into four lines -- 1/4g coke each, and snorted two lines up each nostril.

Fucking savage man. I don't know what the LD50 is on street coke, but that fucking guy took about $60 worth of coke up each nostril.

Then, he had some pie. Rhubarb.

  7. Question about 7.2 support by guacamole · · Score: 0, Offtopic

My understanding is that redhat's current support statement looks like this "We will support all minor releases of the current major RedHat Linux release and the latest version of the previous major release." That means that right now 6.2, 7.0, 7.1, 7.2, and 7.3 are supported but once 8.0 is released, only 8.0 and 7.3 will be supported. If this is true I will be scrwed big time because I just finished upgrading some 50 6.2 boxen to 7.2 and I was thinking that since 7.2 is the latest (and the last) minor release of 7.x series, I can keep on running those machines for a couple of years without upgrading. Now, if RH stops providing updates for 7.2 after 8.0, we'll be screwed big time. Can someone confirm or deny my fears?
