Homebrewed LCD Projectors

pseudofrog writes: "Seems the new thing to do may be to build your own LCD projector. For a couple hundred bucks, some guys are making projectors similar to the professional ones that cost thousands. And it looks pretty simple, too."

I remember having to hold my mom up so she could shower. She was heavy. So very heavy that she couldn't stand on her own for very long, and one misstep on the wet floor could mean her death. Last time she'd fallen in the shower, it took five strong men to carry her down to the ambulance. Three were neighbors, who saw her naked. Between the five of them, they still dropped her twice. 'Lift your breast, mom,' I'd say, 'Lift your breasts - one at a time so you can wash under there... is the rash gone, mommy?' It was humiliating for us both.

    Happy mother's day, mommy!!!

    Dear dirs,

Usrs of the Windows OS have had support for IM (instant messaging) for years, while linux has not. In fact, I dual boot into Windows 98 just so I can use the yahoo chat rooms to pick up women for the purposes of having sex with them. Alas, however, sex with women won't be possible for linux userse until the kernel supports preemptive private messaging.

I have recently been informed that a patch to allow PM/IM was submitted to Linus Tervalds, the "maintainer", but he refuses to make it part of the standard distribution because, in his words, "Most linux users smell like shit." Now I'll grant you that most linux users couldn't get laid in a monkey whorehouse with a bag of bananas, but there are some of us that do like to have sex with women. Therefore, I propose we fork the linux kernel to allow it to include IM/PM, so we can get some tail while using linux.

I suggest we call our new kernel "Henux" -- Heterosexul Linux I have already set up a sourceforge site for the fork.

OK, so these guys really expect me to believe that these cheesy $350+ hack jobs are going to have a better picture than a DLP projector, or a Barco? Please, don't waste my time. I can go on to E-bay and buy a Sony 1272 projector for about 700 bucks, which has RGB inputs and can handle at least the refresh rate of a 1024x768 SVGA resolution output if not more (I never tested a higher resolution on one). I used these things faithfully for 6 years on Corporate presentations when the power of a Barco or a DLP wasnt necessary. This ridiculous hack job reminds me of those $10 lenses you buy for your TV that is supposed to turn them into a projection set. Oh well, wasnt it PT Barnum who said "A sucker is born every minute" ?

just because some people can't learn to use, configure, and manage Windows, doesn't mean its the OS's fault. If your holy grail of Linux was so damed perfect, why do I see so many patches and fixes for it?

Any OS is only as secure and compitant as the USER that manages it, so put the blame where it belongs, in yourself!
