That's why I was glad when I heard that Microsoft Corp. was coming out with the X box. This console is compact, portable, and connects to any TV with RCA inputs. A much easier way to do LAN gaming, and when Return to Castle Wolfenstein arrives on the 'Box, I see very little reason to go back to the Dark Ages of PC gaming...

;)) probably don't need one. By the time gaming houses are taking the GF4 Ti series to its true potential, we'll have GF5's, possibly 6's, sitting on store shelves.
That card is so far away from being useful it isn't funny.
I'm sitting on a GF4 MX 440. Everyone keeps whining about how stupid I am, and how my lineage is soiled, and how the card is a POS and it would've been better if I bought a GF2.
Erm - right. Half-Life's got no problems, and Half-Life is still the only decent shooter on the market right now. Why? Team Fortress. Day of Defeat. Even Counterstrike when one is in the mood for some idiocy in regards to the AK-47. HL isn't going anywhere anytime soon.
So, HL is ancient. Hell, it ran fine on my TNT2. (My Herc Stingray 128/3d could run it with some difficulty.) Fine, fine. Newer games? MechWarrior 4: Vengeance (And Dark Knight) run fine, as well.
Still, those aren't too new in terms of games. So, here we are.
EverQuest runs flawlessly, with no slow-down. Not even in North Freeport, Faymart, or Abu's EC Tunnelmart.
I've seen people whine about how their shiny new GF4 still can't handle EQ. Odd, that mine can, hmm?
Oh - wait - that's right, the rest of my system doesn't suck. Still, it's no gaming setup. (Athlon XP 1800, a mere 512mb of ram..)
A normal gamer doesn't need the bloat of a top of the line GF4 Ti. Even those who wish to be 'K-rad' (Sorry, haven't heard that word in years, and I've been itching to use it
..Portable? It still wouldn't fit in my Dreamcast. Now there's a portable box.
