Stringless Violin to Bring Soul to MIDI Music

lperdue writes "Musicians complain that MIDI may be easy, but the results can be more than a bit cold and soul-less. This story from New Scientist says that Stanford Professor Charles Nichols believes his violin, sans strings will put the emotions back into MIDI music."

    Read the stories. This story is about a professional musician who is developing a midi violin with no strings. The previous story is an Ask Slashdot from a student who is designing an electronic harp with no strings and who needs advice on the electronics.

    OT - Just noticed on Preview that the posting date of this comment is appearing as yesterday. I wonder if that will carry through when posted on the site?
