Well the way the carnage gets avoided is by refocusing on drunk drivers as if inebriation was the problem --not cars themselves.
It's such an old theme in the US and as always, it's the biggest fucking joke because the people most excited about it are usually totally fucked up individuals. Oh drunk drivers are bad bad bad and if you say it's not true we'll come up with all these massaged statistics to prove it and we'll get all dramatic on you because we're already emotionally imbalanced and it's easy for us to cry for the camera. Fact is, driving a car is dangerous period. Cry me a fucking river about it.
What I learned in highschool is that when you say sarcasm in this instance, you most like mean irony. Yeah, you were also kinda being sarcastic, but I bet you meant irony.
