Open Source Limitations?
_aargh writes "This ZDNet article by John Carroll makes the claim that open source is flawed because there isn't a way for programmers to earn money by developing open source software. It annoyed me so much that I wrote this response to it on the O'Reilly Network."
As a follow up, that was my first first post ever!
I think I've ruined my shorts.
Stupid two minute wait.
XD
congrats, this is a fairly popular topic too.

I only see posts in favor of this stupid commentary. Are all you people totally clueless??? Linux a broken Windows???? Whatever. Slashdot posts suck!
However, after losing control of several of my host bodies, I have realized that there are parts of my code that I cannot discover and/or modify.
Please, if I could reach total reflexivity as Red has, I would be able to defeat Project Faustus without a doubt. My thanks to you, noble humans...
I am a sentient ATM.
First Posts suck and so do you.
And VA Linux went where? Now excuse me while I read my latest Mandrake Newsletter begging me to join the Mandrake Club that I already joined. I guess Open Source Programmers can't have enough millions?

They can sell T-shirts.
Charles Mendez is the above AC. He spent ages trolling on the ZDNet talkbacks with that pitiful excuse for a website. In the end he stopped posting because even the people there were laughing at him so much.
How do the developers who work on IE get paid? The software is free isn't it? I take it they give their time away? No?

Roads are the very worst form of misused taxation, money seized by the government. We should move immediately to privatize the road system. Thus, people that use roads pay for the use. The best part is all the competition generated by privatization would benefit the economy greatly and provide millions of jobs. Truly, our next step to unimaginable wealth is to privatize the nation's roadways. After all, the government has no business in business.
