Move Over Nessie, Here Comes Bloop
great throwdini writes "CNN
is carrying news
(published in this week's
New Scientist)
that scientists have
revealed the existence of a recording
that may point to the presence of
an unknown biological ocean-dweller
nicknamed 'Bloop.' Some suggest a "sea monster" (possibly a giant squid) may be responsible for creating the ruckus. Slashdotters have commented on the discovery of giant
squid
and
octopi
in the past, so maybe the idea of a deep-sea
monster isn't so far-fetched?"
here's a link to a wave file of Bloop, sped up 16 times. Fark had this earlier today.
