Monopolists Dropped Off At The County Line

An anonymous reader submits: "In this discussion thread members of PLUG (Phoenix Linux Users Group) may have come up with a way to pressure governmental agencies to switch to software other than that from Microsoft. County purchasing policies in Maricopa County, AZ prohibit purchasing from companies or persons convicted under state or federal antitrust statutes. At least one other county, Coconino, that I have checked so far has similar requirements. I think that it's time to make the government follow their own rules and stop spending any more money with criminals."

Nope. The minimum sentence is "death...by Bongo-Bongo!"

This is going to be modded so far down it'll reach the Earth's core...but that's OK, I'm bored and I'll explain the joke, which was told to me in in high school.

A couple of explorers were wandering through the African jungle when suddenly a net sprang around them and dozens of fierce natives appeared. They were quickly seized and carried to the local chief's hut.

The chief, scowling at the explorers, muttered, "You have two choices, white men. Death...or Bongo-Bongo!"

The first explorer said, "Well anything's better than death. I'll take Bongo-Bongo!"

At that VERY MOMENT, a DOZEN HUUUUGE African warriors burst into the room and BUTT-FUCKED him!

The second explorer stared in horror at the first explorer, who was sobbing and holding his ass. "Oh crap! There ARE worse things than death! I'll take death!"

And the chief yelled, "He has spoken! Death...by Bongo-Bongo!"

Right, cause OpenOffice doesn't provide similar functionality. Nor do the dozens of other apps.
The argument that there are no desktop apps (let alone server ones) is now compeletly outdated. You need another reason to claim that "The OS doesn't matter, windows works, linux doesn't". Because Linux does provide the same functionality now. Mandrake, Lycoris, etc. All easy to use by beginners and windows refugees.
