ChenLing writes "Forget small robots on wheels playing soccer...193 teams from 30 countries have built androids to play soccer at 'RoboCup'.     I think you meant on the same field fairly. Have an inferior product has never stopped Linux from competing with a Microsoft offering and losing time and time again, why should this be any different?

    The US did not lose to Germany in football today, because the US & Germany did not play football today. They did, however, play in soccer. And, yes, Germany won.

    Football is not considered a weird sport in the US. In fact, football is the #1 sport in the US. Perhaps you are confused between football and soccer. Please allow me to define the terms for you.

    Football is a real sport played by real athletes. Soccer is a kid's game played by pussy eurotrash. In fact, in the US, only girls play soccer.

    Not winning a soccer game in no way sheds a bad light at the US. In fact, it sheds a good light at the US. It indicates that Americans do not waste their time playing such a pussy game. Those athletically inclined play real sports like real football and basketball.
