New Wireless Technologies
Codex The Sloth writes "The Economist has an article on 4 emerging wireless technologies: (1) Smart Antennas for improved base-station capacity, (2) Mesh Networks to make each wireless reciever also be a relay,
(3) Ad hoc networking to use network devices as routers, (4) Ultra wideband to transmit 100 mbs wirelessly (but only for distances of 10 feet...). Some of these are already in use while others are still in the lab."
Maybe?
that this is what we are heading for...

Offtopic, but....
...Hahahah, that reminds me of my high school. We have two buildings separated only by the skinny end of a 400m track (you know, the oval things that people run around on). Students with cars (not me) drive in between these two buildings to get to their next class for a whopping distance of 100m to 150m on even the sunniest of days. It's quite a pathetic sight.
The absolutely useless (and ugly!) graphics they stick in the middle of the article.
