It does make you a horribly immoral person. You have essentially said that money is more important to you than a human life. Besides which, it also makes you a coward, as you state that you would only particpate if it wasn't you who had to do the killing, and provided there was no chance of you being caught.
This is what modern western (It seems, in particular, American Capatilism) has given us. A bunch of "Me me me! Mine mine mine!", immoral, money grabbing cowards.
