Macboy Spoofs the New Apple Commercials

Spock the Baptist writes "A big plate of, fresh from the oven, homemade chocolate chip cookies to the person or persons who dreamed up this send-up of Cousin Bill via a spoof of the current crop of Apple commercials. Gotta love it!" Sure, why not? It's Friday! Also included are commercials with the You're Gettin' a Dell dork and Big Brother from the 1984 commercial.

How long before we can see the ads showing the reality of the people who ditch Macs for PCs because the Macs are not really that easy to use (the hype!) and they find out that the application they want is on the PC and not the Mac.

You must not need many kinds of apps. For almost everything, there are many times more applications of a certain type for PC as for Mac, or there are app types on the PC that you cannot even find on the Mac.

I've been much happier than the switch. (now that when I want a certain type of program, I'm actually able to find it).

Videogames? "Unless by application you mean video games (buy a damn play station)"

If you have a PC and want to play games, you don't have to give up and buy a separate console.

At download.com, look for programs for your "baseball card" collection. For PC, there are 3 programs. For Mac, there is only one.

Even worse if you are into cross stitch and not baseball card collecting: 10 offerings on PC to just one one Mac.

Into model rocketry? Download.com has a program for PC, but none for Mac.

Into bass fishing? There are about 11 programs for PC, but none for Mac.

These are not obscure hobbies and applications (unlike fan collecting or making labels for 8-track tape cases)

So if you can't do it on a Mac, it is not worth doing?

I'll tell that to all those mathematicians or statisticians doing complex work on PCs that can't be done with Mac apps that they are better off worth using the slide rule.

It would make an interesting ad campaign for some PC maker:

    - What the math whiz needs when he has a PC (shows a PC sitting there)

    - What a math whiz needs when he has a Mac (shows a Macintosh sitting next to an old fashioned slide rule, a box of pencils, and a stack of legal pads).
