Geek and Gamer Wear Online?
Phillip31337 asks: "I've been looking online for places to buy t-shirts related to computers and gaming. The only websites I have found so far are ThinkGeek , Game-Skins , and ErrorWear. Does anyone else in the Slashdot community know of any other sites that sell game and nerd/geek related t-shirts?" Just about every online comic has some form of merchandising going on these days, and if they sell T-shirts (most do), said shirts would fit nicely into this category. What other online vendors have unique shirts that would please your average (or the discriminating) Slashdot reader?

I'd normally admonish you to stay the hell away from the gene pool, but I think you're managing quite well on your own.

You be the judge. I see Think Geek ads all the time!
Ever wanted a Buddy Christ figurine watching you drive?
Graphitti Designs has them. But more to the point they make almost every DC/Marvel comic character T-shirt out there as well as View Askew, Grendel, Hellboy, and others.
No sig for you!!
You could always go to Cafe Press and make your own. The site is designed to offer turn-ey stores for t-shitrs, sweatshirts, coffee mugs, mousepads, etc. Just upload your own designs and buy the shirts. If you set the prices to the minumum they really aren't that bad. Plus your friends can buy your shirts as well.

While they may not have a heck of a lot of merchandise, the Google Store has some wearables that I'm sure a few geeks like myself would wear.
If you're really stuck for something new and interesting, make your own designs and get them printed.
Check out The Oasis if you happen to live near Birmingham city centre in the UK, they'll print 'em off at a fiver each.
This "Ask Slashdot" is clearly an ad for the companies linked in the post itself. I don't mind this, unlike other advertising media, you are free to post your own ads on the second page (user comments).
In that vein, visit Yashaneko.com, my girlfriend Andromeda's site. She'll have her art up soon, she does custom designs for everything from framed art, to comics, to tattoos.

The "Linux is the Shit" bumper sticker should be a slashdot favorite. Other favorites include "fuck yeah I'm weird", "carpe genitalia", "God mastrubates", "sex with you would suck", "unfuckwithable", "why are my kids so stupid?", or my personal favorite, "talk nerdy to me".
I know you didn't want to go there, but still.
ThinkGeek has a sale on TShirts.
HAHA Fuckers!
Way to go AC's! Antoher FP out of the CLIT's grasp!

THE HAGUE -- Robert ?CmdrTaco? Malda, the owner of the popular technology website Slash Dot, has become one of the first U.S. citizens to be indicted by the International Criminal Court for crimes against typography. The Court, authorized by the Rome Statute and ratified by over 60 nations, is charged with the duty of prosecuting individuals for serious human rights violations such as genocide, torture, and sexual slavery.
With this prosecution, the Court seems intent on adding a new crime to their docket, the crime of ?Unicide.?
?What this ?Taco Commander? did to the international community is unconscionable,? U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan was quoted saying. ?Yesterday, there was a flourishing Unicode-speaking population, numbering in the thousands. Today, there are none. They are all silenced. Their Unicode is either blocked by this so-called ?Lameness Filter? or silently wrenched from their messages.?
Slash Dot is home to at least 580,000 citizens, who hail from every Internet-equipped country in the world. However, many more ? perhaps nearly a million ? live anonymously amongst the ranks of registered citizens.
????? ? ?????, Prime Minister of ???? ?????????????, was outraged when he heard of Slash Dot?s decision to cleanse all Unicode-speaking individuals from their website.
The White House was dismayed by the decision of the Court to prosecute an American citizen for what the President deemed, a ?politicalized persecutorial.? White House spokesman Ari Flescher announced that the U.S. would, if pressed, go forward with their recently unveiled plan to invade the Netherlands, if this prosecution was not halted. ?This is absolutely stunning,? he said. ?That the United States would be expected to even acknowledge the presence of other character sets other than ASCII is an offense in its own right. You either write in ASCII, or you?re with the terrorists.?
Slash Dot, and its parent corporation, VA Software, were unavailable for comment.
STOP ME BEFORE I POST AGAIN!
IMHO the ultimate geekwear is the line of "O'Really" t-shirts from copyleft.net ...
...
... best "got root" shirt I ever saw ... French Blue ... red outline pentagon on the chest ... yellow background inside the pentagon ... no "S" ... nope ... said "SU" ... 'nuff said ...
...
My personal favorite is "Assembling Etherkillers" but you should pick your own fav
I can't remember the URL for the site, but I saw a T once that topped these
If someone would post a link to it, I'd buy it
utter rubbish
Hey, I was doing a google search for kathleen fent (cmdrtaco's buck-toothed fiance), and found some pictures of her here
But Threadless does have some kick-ass, well designed tees.
Also don't forget the Joy of Tech store which even has a few Slashdot Gladiators shirts left in the bargain bin.
Does anyone know of any good online geek-gear shops that ship from within europe?
;-(
I hate paying customs
This is great for everyday wear but does anyone know of a place where a geek can buy more formal gear such as cufflinks or ties?
'Work Sucks' is a new site specialising in formal wear for geeks. We have tux cufflinks and ties, as well as a variety of merchandise featuring the BSD 'demon' in tasteful style.
The address is http://www.dhs100.org/worksucks. We look forward to accepting your business!
The best one should be this .
...is not very geeky, but it tends to kick other tee shirt sites' asses.

The OpenBSD site has some pretty cool t-shirts.

www.macsurfshop.com has some interesting designs, including making fun of 'ol Steve from Dell.
If it weren't for customs to Canada, I'd have one already (not to mention the exchange rate)

Cotton Expressions has a bunch of great science and astronomy related shirts, as well as a number of shirts with Sidney Harris cartoons. They're not fully online yet; the shirt catalog is there, but the ordering system is "fill in the form, then print and fax it". (Matthew, it's the 21st century already. Get with the program! :-)
SoftWear Toys & Tees is also worth a look-see, especially if you're a Lois McMaster Bujold fan. Order via PayPal, or use the print-and-mail form.
Chelloveck
I give up on debugging. From now on, SIGSEGV is a feature.
I'm surprised nobody else has mentioned Copyleft, but I guess I just rectified that. :)
The real fashion question should be:
Does anybody really care that you've gotten a pizza stain on that ragged holey 'Maximum RPM' shirt they gave you for free at the LUG meeting?
'Fashion for slouching over a keyboard' just hasn't ever seemed very exciting to me.
Ok, fair enough, unamerican.org does have clothing with those texts. However, only pointing to those provides a somewhat unrepresentative sample.
For instance, you can also find clothing with the following:
- "set me free" (with an image of a tv)
- "wage slave" (w/ factory image)
- "your ad here" (w/ image of greenbacks)
- "talk is cheap" (w/ image of bomb)
- "keep music evil"
- "I am confused"
- "join us" (w/ people & ufos)
- "nature is pissed"
- "not for sale"
... and so on - the page really deserves a visit
(but, as the original poster mentioned,
you may be offended...)

No, not the game company. This is one of my favorite shirts, particularly after a friend commented:
"If you really were into that, you'd have it tatooed on your back."p>

Copyleft seems to be dead in the water. If you read the comments people have left under the products, you'll see that credit cards are being billed, but orders aren't being shipped and emails aren't being replied to.
This is really too bad. I ordered from them a couple of years ago and was happy with everything about the transaction, but i wouldn't touch them with a 10-foot pole for now.
