Transparent Water Cooling Case

thefalconer writes "Over at the Via Hardware website one of the users there recently posted a very unique case mod that combines all of my favorites into a very cool design. Not only is the case totally transparent, but so are the covers on the hard drives, and it sports a water cooled Dual Athlon XP 2100+ processors. The case and all of the internal mods are entirerly hand made and it looks awesome."

This smacks too much of SUV owners, who don't give damn about fuel efficiency, but only want something that looks cool. So now we have people who buy hugely inefficient computers, then resort to water cooling to keep them from burning up. And they justify it because the computer looks cool. Brilliant. You'd think geeks wouldn't want to be in the same class as suburban yuppies.

you know those old crappy cases with three sides (top + left + right) covers that slide on from the back, the type that have a plastic-front that snaps on?

Ive had that cover off my PC for about 2 years, the unit sits under the table. It makes a good foot rest. its shamefully full of dust bunnies and cooled by a 50 year old table-top fan pointed in the side.

Tomorrow I pick up my new 512MB(CAS2 PC2700)@533Mhz)/2200+/80GB screamer... funny that you mentioned keeping the cover off at the time when im about to retire this old girl (PII266) and make her into a ApacheServer...
