No, that's not right. The most destabilizing force in the world today is religeous intolerance by Islamic fundamentalists.
- when is the last time the US government was so determined to do something and thrown so many resources at it? Lowering taxes for us to make our lives easier? No. Improving health care for everyone? No. Cleaning up gang neighborhoods? No.
- if it's really for "our" own good, why don't we have a say in what goes on? Ultimately, it is civilian lives that are taken by terrorist acts. Maybe civilians are willing to take their chances rather than be censored and limited in so many new ways... but has anyone asked them?
No, that was the best thing that ever happened to the world.
