Mignon writes "Rational has released PurifyPlus for Linux. This could be a big step for commercial Linux development."

    but when I first read 'PurifyPlus' I thought somebody must've ported Linux to their toilet.
    The name sounds to much like a generic '2000 flushes'.

    Visual Slick Edit for Linux. I have the 6.0 version for Linux and it works pretty good.


    Or if you are 133t you can just use vim

      Placeholder. I moved the servers to a new location, and got the corporate sites up before mine. Then the colo facility had problems, and we're thinking of moving them again. I'm not gonna bother uploading the site if I can physically get at the servers and just load the site onto the server via a jump to the left with CD-Rs (yes, it's a big site, no it's not porn or warez).

    You could just write in a better language, like Common Lisp, SML/NJ or one of a multitude of scripting languages.

    C is a terrible language outside OS kernel development. C++ is a terrible language full stop - crippled OO, mired in ABI/name-mangling incompatibilities. If you have to stick within the C family, then at least use ObjC...
