Classic Computer Vulnerability Analysis Revisited

redtail writes "The original authors of the classic vulnerability analysis of Multics have revisited the lessons learned almost thirty years later. Their new paper, along with the original vulnerability analysis is published here by IBM. The original vulnerability analysis inspired the self-inserting compiler back door described by Ken Thompson in his Turing Award Lecture. "

C'mon, everyone with any education in the classical world knew the Earth to be a sphere. The controversy was about not having Earth at the center of things -- you know, the Copernican/Galilean/Keplerian cosmology.

Could also possibly be sometihng contacting these hot suckers. (CPU, the compound used?)

Did you remember to take the strip off the heatsink when installing it if required?

It could also possible (and hopefully) be the power supply. In fact I would argue you to look there first as it would also be the most inexpensive solution, and a more probable cause than the motherboard emitting odors.

You misunderstand, the point is not a defense of faith, but rather the idiocy of the mobacrocy that Slashdot has evolved into. A post based on two things 1. Christians are idiots and the supporting 2. the Bible says the world is flat to back up point 1 was given a +3.

This merely refutes point 2, which may not refute point 1, but one that makes the +3 a joke. A claim based on manufactured evidence is not a +3 insightful comment, is it?
