Tomcat 4.1.10 Released
Roullian writes "The first stable version of Tomcat 4.1 is out. This is a long-awaited version, as it includes major improvements: enhanced administration tools, a new JSP compiler, and many many performance and scalability improvements. For all of us using Tomcat in production, it's time to download!"
The official announcement of this release can be found here.
Never use a tomcat 3.x server in production. Never.
Tomcat 4.x (particularly the 4.1) series is faster, more stable, and generally nicer than the 3.x series. It is production capable.
Wait until 4.1.11 - they are fixed there. Otherwise - download 4.1.10 now and start testing your upgrades!
Please, a word from the wise about the "best" information available to get me up and running with Tomcat on RedHat 7.3
"Send an Instant Karma to me" - Yes
I have a server running tomcat 3.2.3. Should I update?
"With Microsoft, you get Windows. With Linux, you get the full house" - unknown
Not very anxiously, mind, but I started playing around with Tomcat 3.x a while back to develop some internal apps, figured with 4.1 coming up I'd wait on it to upgrade.
;)
Guess I know what I'll be doing tomorrow.
(Oh boy, new toys
