WorldCom Forced To Block Questionable Sites

Cutriss writes "Seen on Wired, this article briefly mentions how the Pennsylvania State Government is forcing UUNet to block access to five child pornography sites, under their new state law. No mention was made as to whether they were domestic or foreign. I'm certainly no fan of kiddie porn, but this ruling also serves as a blow to the 'common carrier' status that any whatever-tiered ISP should have in theory, and in practice. Also, this is a state law, not a federal one, but the end result is nationwide. This isn't a whole lot different from Yahoo! France being sued for making auctions of Nazi propaganda viewable by French citizens."

Anyone have a list of urls being blocked? I would like to *cough* inspect the site to see if it really needs to be "blocked" or not..

I say that child *and* any other excessively SICK porno should BE BANNED from the net and from everywhere else. The current situation really make me sick.

There is not really something really wrong with some "soft" porno or some more sensuality stuff, but when it comes to people eating shit, fucked by lions, sodomizing children and other CRAP like that, BAN THEM ALL THE WAY and get these people who put these stuff online or magazines or video tapes or DVDs in PRISON.

I know that many men won't agree, but I am a woman, and I don't like that stuff. SICK stuff DON'T and they SHOULD NOT "turn me on". And no, I am not religious, just trying to not be sick.

You people are disgusting. Millions of children starve to death and die of AIDS every day because the drugs corporations won't let them make the medicine unless they pay for the patents' rights. They're forced to work as slaves so you can have your fucking sneakers. They're forced to fight all over the globe in conclicts started by the CIA because the US wants to control their country.

When was the last time you shed a tear for those?

But take their clothes off, take their picture, and suddenly they're being exploited.

Well, most of those children only pose for those pictures because of the money. Because it's the only way they can make enough money to survive. Instead of going after the people who pay them (and who are, ironically, the ones helping them survive), or the people who buy the pictures, why don't you try solving the real cause of the problem? What have you ever done to help those children lead a normal life?

So get off your high horse. The only reason you call child pornographers monsters is so you feel like a saint. Because without those monsters to compare with, you'd probably realise you're not such a good person yourself.

But take away those monsters and what happens to the children? They die faster, because they can't even sell themselves. They die with their clothes on, and they die away from the 9 o'clock news, so you don't care, but they still die. They die when a mine blows up or when their boss at the Nike factory beats them to death.

But you don't care about that, do you? Because your country sells those mines, and you wear those Nike shoes.
