Microsoft's Vision Of Future Workplaces

An anonymous reader writes "Microsoft unveils their new office of the near future in a swanky center in Redmond. Inside this article you will find clear evidence of institutional navel gazing like never before and a staggering ignorance of current technology (much of this seems retreaded) not to mention actual business needs or wants. Want proof? How about: '"Surround sound is going to be increasingly important in future offices," says group marketing manager Tom Gruver in leading a tour of the new facility.' Right. More chestnuts inside."

    Dear fellow trolls,

We all know slashdot/VA Linux is starved for cash and will do anything (just like Kathleen Fent!). I suggest we make use of the "roll your own ad" ystem they have in place. For just $5.00 (USAin), he goatse man't spread anus could greet all front page visitors! Wouldn't that be a sit to see!

if you're upscale, rich, and preppy, chances are you have better things to do (like getting laid) than configuring IRQs or staying up until 4am trying to get your sound card or mouse to work under linux.

People aren't born greasy fat and smelly. they get that way by staying up all night to eat cheetos and recompile their linux kernel, instead of shoering or exercising. Is it a stereotype? No more of a stereotype than saying sand niggers pray to mecca 3 times a day. That's jsut the ay things are.

    I too only see-"whhaaa,whaaa...we don't need that...whhhaaahhh"

I guess it's hard to see the future of computers when you're still coding the GUI..pfhhhtt
