Casemodding Enterprise Hardware

Anonymous Coward writes "Think your tower case with led fans, a cold cathode and a window is cool? See what this guy did to two Sun Enterprise 15Ks -- a casemod on $1.3 million dollars of hardware! Will mainframes start shipping with light and window options now?"

    *ahem* Hey...
    I'm, ah, I'm not a cracker,
    or... a script kiddie...
And I- I don't live in the comp lab,
or, eat quiche, or own a Microsoft stock,
And I don't know Gates, Torvalds,

I'm certain they're... really really nice.
Uh, I have a GNU Preacher.
    Not a CEO.
    I speak C++ And Assembly,
    not "VisualBasic,"
And I pronounce it "nu," not "g-nu."

I can proudly sew my distro's logo on my back pack.

I believe in fileswapping, not palladium,

    A tux is a penguin!
    A "Linux" is a kernel!
    And it is pronounced "lee-nux!"
    Not "lie-nux!" LEE-NUX!

I do service contract support for Sun gear, and on the high end stuff they (sun) would definitly have the option of walking away from one of these things on a service call. Personally, I know I'd be tempted to do so.

Did you even visit the link? He glued some lights inside the doors of the rack. Whoopty. Not gonna affect serviceability one iota.

  5. case modding is the absolute gayest by Anonymous Coward · · Score: -1, Troll

Case modding has to be the gayest, nerdiest thing I have ever seen.

Who the fuck cares how your stupid-ass nerd computer cases looks? If you want to mod your car, that's fine. It's supposed to be stylish.

To mod your case is just simply gay. It doesn't translate at all to the computer world.

Just when being a nerd was starting to be "in", these faggots have to go and fuck everything up all over again.

What's next, they're going to "mod" their Palm Pilots?

Jesus, get a life you snivelling weasel-necked geeks.
