Nope. The author is unknown, so it's forfeited to the public domain. Yoink.
Linux kernel prepatch 2.4.20-pre10 was just released the other day and absolutely no mention. Instead we get a story about what some shitty little third world asian country thinks of our laws. who cares? I hate Slashdot.

Agreed. Some days it seems that most moderators are overweight communist hippies with no sense of humor. The rest are probably perl scripts.
Why was my previous most moderated to -1, troll? -1, offtopic I can understand, but a troll?
Geeze, arn't people allowed to have opinions.
Taiwan rejecting a US demand? They must be terrorists!
Hippys...dirty hippys...they're all around me. They wanna change the world but they just smoke pot and smell. Hippys...
I am not a dirty hippy communist! I do not want my approximately 10K worth of software on this laptop to be free, because then I could not actually steal it, which I greatly prefer thank you very much.

I really wonder exactly how many of all the
whiny bluffs we get from corporations about
how devestated they will be if this or that
law gets passed to protect the environment or
the consumer.
They will adapt and still make oodles of money.
Business is the kid who threatens to take their
bat and ball and go play elsewhere.
Whingy bluffers.
I am the Man, stop fighting me damnit!
