Email Over High-Frequency Radio in West Africa

Guillaume Filion writes "LinuxJournal has a fascinating article about Radio Email in West Africa over HF links. 'Deep inside the warm green interior of Guinea, centered in the frontal lobe of West Africa, field personnel in the widely scattered village-towns of Dabola, Kissidougou and Nzerekore now enjoy access to regular internet e-mail, directly from their desktops. Here we have bridged the digital divide, and there isn't a telephone line or satellite dish in sight.' Talk about Wireless Fidelity!"

Wow, this is real innovation, who would have though of sending email via HF radio. Hmm this sounds like a primitive form WiFi. I wonder what would happen if I JAMMED AN EXTRA 3.4 MILLION EMAILS A DAY INTO THEIR SYSTEM. Sounds great for the Ass-End of nowhere but honestly did this deserve attention?

Dude, who gives a f*ck about email in West Africa? The Africans should be much more concerned with stopping the spread of AIDS and overthrowing their dictators and adopting some semblance of democracy. Know-what-I'm-sayin'?!
