Ballmer Sees Free Software as Enemy No. 1

geekinexile writes "Bloomberg is running this Microsoft vs. Linux article as a top story on the Bloomberg system. Not so notable for what it says about Linux, but rather for the fact that the financial community is starting to actually get open source."

OK..let me tell you something....since you are not a citizen, you have no right to talk about MY country, just as I don't have a right to talk about yours .I was not born here! I moved here 15 years ago when I was 18, learned the language, became a citizen, went to college, and I vote for my local politicians.
Where I come from is not an issue (Vienna), because I am an American citizen. I worked in McDonalds and bagged groceries at the SuperMarket to pay my way through college. I earn what a US citizen should get. So, you are saying that there is a SHORTAGE of US technical employees? I KNOW what H1B visas make! I used to manage them! They are CHEAPER by at least $30,000 a year! There are PLENTY of US citizens who are 50x more skilled than many H1B visas. Companies dont want to pay...why pay $100,0000 when you can get "good enough" for $50,000? It's called indentured servitude. When your mortgage payments can't be met, because a person who is here on a TEMPORARY work visa (the original law was to work for 6 months..then LEAVE), has taken your job...then we can talk.

ya, they won't survive. If they can't sell their crappy shit then they will be like the people dieing of famine in Africa, millions dieing while Steve plots the demise of anyone who writes software that doesn't work for his evil empire. Survive? give me a break. These people have enough cash to last ten generations.

How narcissitc of Balmer to use the term 'enemy' when describing his competition.

It is rediculous and pathetic that these money whore thieves should loose sleep because there are other people selling software. Instead of trying to destroy his competition maybe baby steve can devote his time to helping people who really are on the verge of not surviving. But instead he sees enemies in the benign competition. Hey, all of us out of work software people are just trying to make rent and get groceries.

What are all of you employ microsluts doing? Pimping yourself for your demons incarnate? You will survive, you jerks. But will you be able to live with yourselves?

Oh, boo hoo hoo. You won't have ten billion in cash but only seven.

You will be held to account for all of the crap that you pull, you Microsluts.

Grow up and stop being so rediculous. If you think that people who use Linux are your enemies then you truely are evil.

But, in any case, whatever. You gotta do what you gotta do. And if you think that your cupidity is cute and that poeple who choose to not believe your dot-net lies are your enemies, then you are much more fucked up than even I suppose.

But, hey, I have spent too much time worrying about you. I guess I should stop this and say a prayer for your salvation.

'there survival depends on . . .' blah blah blah.

Ya, if we don't use the MS stuff, we won't let them eat. We'll hunt them down. We'll kill them in their homes.

Grow up. your survival doesn't depend on weather your company makes another billion dollars.
Grow up. You can't rule the world. You can only make a lot of us very angry as you plot and scheme for our demise. And for what? Because we won't let you get over with your poorly engineered crap.

You microsoft people are disgrace. You need to feel ashamed. Very ashamed.

Why don't you take some of your billions in cash and help the ones in the third world who really might not survive. Oh, I'm sorry, you're buzy trying to take over every industry and putting your software in every product.

You are shame ful. No wonder there are people who hate americans. They see the extreame cupidity of the microsuck types and they hate us.

STEVE BALMER, GROW THE FUCK UP.
WE ARE NOT YOUR ENEMIES, but your contemporaries and compatriots. We see you and we are not impressed. You are a disgrace!

You get the dumbass post of the day. He was talking about Linux, not Unix. Most of your examples were created well before Linus took a crap and left us with Linux.

Now that you know the point of the post, lets repeat the exercise. And before you answer, keep in mind the Linux was created from the beginning to mimic Unix. That doesn't sound very innovative to me...

Dude, I don't think you got the point of what I was linking to.

Just because you have a multi-million dollar salary and run a company doesn't make you intelligent, or useful. Infact, when a company fails as craptacularly as Enron, its usually the idiot CEOs who are at fault.

Not to mention in the majority of those cases, the company fell apart because of what?

Lack of communication. Yup, when you're a CEO and decide to stay locked up in your little corner of the world and only pay attention to people at the same level as you, I can assure you that your business is on the path to failure.

Perhaps if those CEOs spent some time reading slashdot, they would have found out about fuckedcompany.com before they were on it.

    >I doubt they give the slightest bit of a crap what software their company uses as long as the employees are satisfied and it gets the job done within the specs.

That isn't how being a CEO works at all. Anyone who's in an Executive position is always in CYA mode. Most CEOs don't give a shit about their employees until one of them makes him look like the fool. And caring about satisfying employees? Unions existed for a reason (now they're more of an anacronism than they should be).

Same thing goes for the products and software. It's all CYA, and CEOs would run linux today if they thought they could wipe their arse with it the moment it fails. It's just that Microsoft is used to being everyone's toilet paper, and so they don't feel threatened when a CEO says "It's isn't my fault the IT department left you guys in research without email all week. They told me it was Microsoft's fault because of some Exchange error or something.". Microsoft knows as long as they make a good punching bag, they'll stay in business.
